Visual Arts and Drama Residency Artist: Kizzie Cobb and Stefanie Jaye
This continuing residency has the artists working with students in an intensive learning center. Program participants are receiving exposure to visual arts and drama arts education and are working on developing basic artistic skills, theatrical presentations and creative processes. The residency is much needed, as the children in this center receive limited or none arts education experiences. This project is funded, in part, by AstraZeneca.

Capital Early Intervention Preschool Program

Visual Arts, Music and Drama Residency Artists: Katja Lackey, Cynthia Breese and Stefanie JayeThis very intense residency is conducted at five sites serving developmentally delayed or at-risk four year olds. Each site is receiving twenty-four weeks exposure to all three artistic disciplines. The artwork produced during the visual arts portion, as well as video of culminating event performances, will continue to be displayed at VSADE’s Celebration of Creativity.

Theater and Creative Movement Artists: Stefanie JayeThis continuing program is a theater-based residency. The group is currently comprised of students (ages 17-21) that are involved in the Charlton Transitional programs at DSU. Again, these participants focused on the development of social skills through dramatic exercises. This program is funded, in part, by the Wilmington Flower Market and DFRC, Inc.

Domestic Violence Project

Visual Arts Residency Artist: Terri WillisThis statewide residency, A View From My Window, is providing the opportunity for domestic violence survivors to create artwork (22” x 28” windows) that communicate their struggles and experiences. The artist is engaging participants at shelter facilities throughout the state. This year the project will be working exclusively with children and adolescents. The completed works will be on exhibit at Delaware’s Victims Rights Vigil, VSADE’s Celebration of Creativity and numerous other venues. A film documentary of the completed works and participant stories will be created with a technology grant from Verizon Foundation.This project is funded, in part, by Verizon Foundation.
